DJ Mag’s annual Best Of British Awards, which acknowledges and celebrates the contributions and achievements to the industry made by British acts, has published all nominees in all their categories.
This year’s Awards consists of 22 categories, including ‘Best Remix’, ‘Best Track’, ‘Best Dance Festival’ and ‘Best Label’.
Solardo however, are one of 5 nominees for the much-coveted ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’ (along with Dax J, DJ Barely Legal, Felix Dickinson, and Shanti Celeste).
2016 has been nothing short of tremendous for Solardo. January saw their explosion onto the scene with a release on Skream’s Of Unsound Mind label, including the massive tracks ‘Acid Rocks’, ‘Dance The Disco’, and ‘Control Time’.
The release had huge support from the likes of industry royalty Steve Lawler and Jamie Jones (among many others), and it propelled them to the forefront of the industry.
Solardo have a certain Midas touch when it comes to making music. That magic they sprinkle into their production process has resulted in Solardo being this year’s undisputed banger factory with releases on Lost, VIVa, Snatch!, MadTech, and of course, Hot Creations with their debut dance floor slammer Tribesmen EP.
But of course these Awards are about the quality of DJing, and I’m sure all those of you that have had the pleasure and privilege of seeing them will join me in shouting at those who haven’t to get their priorities right and see them ASAP!
From their song choices to their technical capabilities from their energy to their presence, the space and experience this DJ Duo is able to create is something truly special and unique. Dumbledore himself would be left gob-smacked at the wizardry of these two when they get behind the wheels of steel, and no other act deserves the win for this year’s ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’ more, so get onto DJ Mag and vote for them now!
